On June 17, 2026, a lunar occultation of Venus occurred, during which the Moon passed directly in front of Venus from the perspective of Earth. This event was visible as a daytime occurrence across the United States and some regions of Canada. It was the first of three such occultations involving Venus in 2026, with subsequent ones scheduled for September 14 and November 7, visible from other parts of the world. The event was observed and documented from locations including the Mary W. Jackson NASA Headquarters in Washington.
