NASA released an image of the Pelican Nebula (IC 5070) incorporating 25 hours of exposure, highlighting detailed filamentary dust and gas structures. The image, taken from Utah, USA, shows the ionization front where light from young energetic stars transforms cold gas into hot gas, visible as a bright orange boundary. The nebula is part of an active star formation region and is bounded by the dark nebula LDN 935.
